Police: Two Killed After Car Fleeing Accident Hits Another Car

(CBS) -- Two people are dead after a car crash in Schaumburg Monday night.

Schaumburg Police say it happened around 7 p.m. on Springinsguth Road. A car driven by 19-year-old Michael Owsiany of Elk Grove Village rear-ended another car and then fled the scene speeding away, police said.

Down the road a short distance a 39-year-old Schaumburg woman, Erin Semerad, was trying to make a turn onto that road and she was hit by Owsiany's car. Both died and a 23-year-old passenger in Owsiany's car was critically injured.

Police say the accident happened near the same spot where a car ran off the road and into a house less than a month ago.

No one was hurt in that crash.
