Police: Two Dead, One Wounded In South Shore Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Three people were shot—two fatally—Wednesday morning in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.

The shooting happened in the 2600 block of East 74th Place at 9:06 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said, citing preliminary information.

One male victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Estrada said. A second male victim was taken to South Shore Hospital, where he was also pronounced dead.

A third male victim was shot and taken in good condition to Jackson Park Hospital.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatalities.
