Two Dead In Norwood Park Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Two men were killed in a rollover crash Monday night in the Norwood Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A GMC Envoy SUV was northbound on the 6000 block of North Milwaukee Avenue about 10:45 p.m. when it lost control and hit two fences before flipping onto its side, hitting a light pole and coming to a stop, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The 28-year-old driver and another man, 39, were removed from the SUV and taken to Resurrection Medical Center, Alfaro said.

The 39-year-old was pronounced dead at Resurrection Medical Center at 12:01 a.m., while the 28-year-old was pronounced at 12:03 a.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

The medical examiner's office was not releasing their identities Tuesday morning pending notification of their families.

The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the crash.
