Police: Three Men Stole 400 iPads From Lake Forest School

(STMW) -- A former security guard at a north suburban school and two other men have been charged with stealing hundreds of iPads from the school last year.

Nicholas Roiniotis, 25, of Palatine; Natan Khanania, 25, of Hanover Park; and Anam Qadri, 31, of Roselle all charged after with stealing about 400 iPads from Lake Forest Academy in June 2013, according to a statement from Lake Forest police.

Roiniotis, who formerly worked as a security guard at the private high school, and Khanania are charged with burglary of a school and felony theft of school property, police said. Qadri was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.

Detectives were able to recover "numerous" stolen iPads that the men sold both in person and over the Internet, police said. The men also registered the stolen iPads to themselves.

Roiniotis is currently being held in the Lake County Jail on a $500,000 bond, while Khanania and Qadri are out on bail awaiting future court dates, police said.
