Police: Three Family Members Shot, One Fatally, In Huntley

(STMW) -- A man was shot and killed in northwest suburban Huntley Monday evening after getting in to an argument with his brother, police said.

About 5:10 p.m., a woman called police to a home in the 11400 block of Morning Glory Lane saying she'd been shot, Huntley police said in a statement.

A preliminary investigation suggests the woman's two sons -- 48-year-old Robert Grundei and his 50-year-old brother -- were arguing when someone pulled out a gun, police said.

The woman had the gun in her possession when police arrived and had a graze wound to her head, police said.

Grundei was shot in the head and shoulder, while his brother was shot in the head, police said.

All three were taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where Grundei, formerly of Coral Springs, Fla., later died, police said.

The Kane County Coroner's office could not be reached to confirm the death.

The 50-year-old brother is still being treated for "severe" injuries, police said. The mother is expected to be released, police said.

Police do not believe anyone else was involved in the incident.
