Police: Teen Shot And Killed In East Chatham

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 16-year-old boy was shot to death early Tuesday in the East Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The teenager was found at 1:07 a.m. in a hallway of an apartment building in the 800 block of East 83rd Street, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the chest and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
