Police Shoot Armed Suspect In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- An officer shot an armed suspect in the West Garfield Park neighborhood on Wednesday night.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the shooting happened near Wilcox and Pulaski "after an armed encounter between police and suspects."
CPD & @ChicagoCOPA are both on scene independently gathering preliminary information. The below weapon was recovered from the offender following the armed encounter which led to him being shot by police. CPD will brief media shortly. pic.twitter.com/7HbvpnjAop
