Police Searching For Suspect In Round Lake Beach Murder

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A manhunt was underway across the Chicago area, after a domestic dispute ended in murder in far north suburban Round Lake Beach.

Officers arrived at a house in the 1400 block of Idlewild Drive around 9:10 p.m. Saturday, responding to a report of shots fired.

Police found a 31-year-old man who had been shot in a domestic dispute. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The victim's name has not yet been released.

"We did determine that there was a person of interest, a suspect, Jeremy Anderson; and that he had left the scene," Round Lake Beach Police Asst. Chief Michael Scott said.

Anderson, 36, of Chicago Heights, was still on the run early Monday.

Police said he was last seen driving a blue 2003 Chevrolet Malibu sedan, with Illinois license plate V128881.

"He's armed and dangerous. He's killed somebody, and we need him off the streets," Scott said.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Anderson on two counts of first-degree murder.

Police said Anderson should be considered armed and dangerous. If you should see him or the car, do not approach. Instead, call 911 or local police.
