Police Searching For Owner Of Pony Found Wandering Around Aurora

(CBS) -- Police are searching for the owner of a pony found wandering around Aurora early Sunday.

Police received a call about a pony sighted around 5:30 a.m. on Aurora's near east side. They located the animal in the 1000 block of Front Street and were able to cox the pony into a van with the help of Animal Control and Care officers.

After checking several nearby farms in unincorporated Aurora, police were unable to find out who own's the pony. Police say the male pony appears to be in good health and is around five to six years old. The pony stands approximately 5'4" and weighs around 400 pounds.

The pony was transported to an undisclosed farm as police continue to investigate the pony's ownership and how it got loose.
