Police Search For Man Who Robbed 2 North Side Convenience Stores

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who robbed two convenience stores last weekend in the North Side Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

The robberies happened about 3:55 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of West Irving Park Road and about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of North Clybourn Avenue, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

In the incident on Irving Park, a white man, thought to be in his 20s, entered the store with a knife and implied that he had a pistol, police said. He was described as about 5-foot-7 with a slim build, wearing a black hooded jacket and a black baseball hat.

In the Clybourn robbery, the same man entered the store, dressed similarly, and implied that he had a pistol, police said. His accomplice was described as a Hispanic male, wearing a black hooded jacket and black pants.
