Police Say Report Of Ravenswood Rape 'Unfounded'

(STMW) -- A woman's claim that she was sexually assaulted Wednesday night in the Ravenswood neighborhood on the North Side has been ruled "unfounded" by police.

Officers responded to a call of a sexual assault about 10:10 p.m. in the 4500 block of North Damen Avenue, police said.

An 18-year-old woman was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment.

Police said Friday afternoon the woman's claim was unfounded.
