Police: Robber Team Pounces On Victims In Uptown, Lincoln Square

(CBS) -- Two men are using coordinated attacks to rob victims in the Uptown and Lincoln Square neighborhoods, approaching victims from different directions, Chicago police warn.

The would-be victims were all on foot when a pair of predators attacked and robbed them, CBS 2's Pamela Jones reports.

The latest incident occurred on Winona near Glenwood on Jan. 4.

It's one of four similar muggings police have tracked over the last month in Uptown and Lincoln Square.

The Argyle CTA station was the scene of the first attack in the string Dec. 6.

About a mile and a half away, suspects struck again Dec. 31 near Broadway and Ainslie.

Police say the crimes occurred between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. The crimes have pushed police to ask residents in Lincoln Square and Uptown to be vigilant about checking their surroundings.

Meanwhile, they say they've also investigated a string of robberies in the Town Hall neighborhood.
