Police Release Surveillance Images Of Alleged Condo Burglar

(CBS) -- Chicago police have released surveillance images of a suspect in burglaries at several condo buildings.

Police say the suspect burglarized vehicles and took items such as mail and bicycles after gaining entrance to the building with a pry tool. The suspect was seen with a shopping cart during the burglaries.

The man is wanted in connection with burglaries in the 500 block of W. Briar Place at 9 p.m. on February 7 and 4 a.m. Feb. 23, 600 block of W. Wrightwood between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. on March 17, 1200 block of W. Diversey between 11 p.m. March 31 and 7:45 a.m. April 1, 2700 block of N. Racine between 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. on April 1 and the 900 block of W. Belmont between 11 p.m. April 19 and 2 a.m. April 20.

The suspect is described as a heavy set black man with a bald head and a mustache and has been wearing a hoodie.

Police say not to approach the suspect if seen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North Detectives at (312)744-8263.
