Police Release Surveillance Images From Gold Coast Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago police have released surveillance camera images of the gunman who shot and killed a 26-year-old man in the Gold Coast neighborhood Wednesday night, along with the getaway vehicle he used to flee the scene.

A grainy image of the shooter shows him pointing a handgun into the street near the intersection of Clark and Division. Another image shows the car he was driving, a dark-colored sedan.

Police said a 26-year-old man was shot multiple times around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of North Clark Street. A man drove up to him, got out of the car, shot him several times, and then got back in the car and drove off, police said.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released, but police said he was a convicted felon on parole, and he had gang ties.

A gun was recovered at the scene, in a trashcan at a nearby business.
