Police: Proviso West Cafeteria Monitor Had Sex With Student

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A cafeteria monitor at a west suburban high school is accused of having sex with an underage student.

Joi Taylor, 32, an employee of Proviso West High School in Hillside, is charged with criminal sexual assault in a position of authority, and indecent solicitation of a child, according to Hillside police.

The police school liaison officer assigned to Proviso West was informed Tuesday of possible sexual conduct involving students and a school employee, police said.

An investigation found that Taylor, a school cafeteria monitor, had engaged in sexual activity with a male student, police said.

Taylor, a Chicago resident, is scheduled to appear in bond court Thursday.
