Police: Pair Try To Lure Boy Into Car In Washington Heights

(STMW) -- Police are searching for two people who attempted to lure a 9-year-old boy into a car earlier this month in the Washington Heights neighborhood on the South Side.

About 3:05 p.m. on Sept. 4, the driver of an older-model red Cadillac with a white top used hand motions for the boy to come toward the car, then asked him to come into the vehicle near Sangamon and 98th Place, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The driver is described as a black man about 30-40 with short dark hair, facial hair and a dark complexion, police said.

Anyone with information on the attempted luring should contact Area South detectives at (312) 747-8271.
