Police: One Killed, Two Injured In Austin Shooting

(STMW) -- A man was killed and two others were injured in a shooting early Saturday in the West Side Austin neighborhood, police said.

The men, ages 24, 26 and 27, were standing outside about 3:15 a.m. in the 200 block of South Laramie when they got into an altercation and shots were fired, police said.

The 26-year-old was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

The 27-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to both legs and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. The youngest man was shot in the leg and also taken to Mount Sinai, where his condition was stabilized.

A police source said all three men are documented gang members.
