Police: One Dead In Head-On Crash In Elburn

ELBURN, Ill. (STMW) -- A west suburban man was killed in a head-on crash Monday morning in Elburn, police said.

An eastbound 2002 Toyota Camry crossed the center line on Keslinger Road about 7:30 a.m. and struck a westbound 2000 Chevrolet van near Harley Road, according to the Kane County Sheriff's office.

Burton Brown, 68, of Elburn, was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he was pronounced dead, police said. He was the driver and only person in the Camry.

The driver of the van, Donnie Thomas, 35, of Elgin, was treated at the scene, police said. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

The Kane County Coroner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

No citations have been issued, police said.

Keslinger Road was closed between Harley and Denali roads until about 10:30 a.m. as the sheriff's office and the Kane County Reconstruction Team investigated.
