Police Officer Injured, Two Residents Rescued In South Side Fire

(STMW) -- A Chicago Police officer was hurt in a fire Thursday afternoon in the South Side Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The fire at a two-and-a-half story home in the 5300 block of South Paulina was extinguished by 2 p.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

Two residents were rescued from the second floor of the home, but were not hurt, according to the fire department.

A police officer suffered minor injuries, according to the fire department. Additional information was not immediately available.
