Police: Missing 14-Year-Old NW Indiana Girl Could Be In Lansing

(STMW) -- Police are searching for a 14-year-old girl who has been missing from her northwest Indiana home for a week and who they think might be in south suburban Lansing.

Shamirya Webb left her home in the 8100 block of Cedar Point Drive in Crown Point, Ind., on Jan. 11 to go to school, but never showed up, according to a missing person alert from Schererville police.

Schererville Patrol Commander Brian Neyhart said Webb tried to run away from home Jan. 10, but her mom stopped her. Webb then left for school Jan. 11, but never arrived, Neyhart said.
