Police: Man Wanted For Luring Children Into His Car In Lincoln Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to lure a teen and child into his car Wednesday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.

Between 8 and 9 a.m. Wednesday, a 13-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy were walking to school near 1700 N. Larrabee St. when a man in a dark grey sedan pulled up next to them. The man allegedly said, "Come over here," to the children, who continued walking, according to a police alert.

The man followed the children up the street in his vehicle, pulled up to them again and asked if they needed a ride. The children ignored him and continued walking to school, the release said. The sedan made a U-turn and drove off.

The suspect is described as a white 40 to 50-year-old man with balding black and grey hair.

Anyone with information should contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
