Police: Man Tried To Lure Teenage Girl Into His Car On West Side

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are cautioning residents after a man tried to lure a teenage girl into his car in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on Wednesday.

The 15-year-old girl was walking in the 3900 block of West Division Street about 1 p.m. when an older man drove up in a light-blue sedan and tried to persuade her to get into the car, according to a community alert issued by police Friday night.

The girl ignored him and walked home safely, the alert said.

He was described as a black man about 40 years old wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. Police said the car he was driving may have had a handicap license plate number of 163267.

Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
