Police: Man Tried To Lure Girls Into Vehicle In Hermosa

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are searching for a man who tried to lure two girls into his vehicle last week in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The girls, ages 10 and 14, were playing outside about 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 4000 block of West Wabansia when a four-door vehicle pulled up and the driver motioned with his hands for the girls to come closer, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The girls approached the vehicle and the man told them to get in so he could take them to the store, police said. The girls then ran away and alerted an adult who contacted authorities. The vehicle, which was either green or blue, drove away westbound on Wabansia.

The suspect was describe as a white or Hispanic man, thought to between 20 and 40 years old, with a goatee, police said. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with lettering and a black sweater.
