Police: Man Tried To Lure Girl Into Car In Brighton Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are searching for a man who tried to lure a teen girl into a car in the Brighton Park neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

Just after noon, a 15-year-old girl was in the 3900 block of South Kedzie Avenue when a man tried to "solicit" her to a car, according to an alert from Area Central detectives.

The man tried to get her to go into the car for several minutes, and the girl eventually ran off, police said.

The man was described as white or Hispanic, in his 30s, with short black hair that is faded on the sides. He has a chubby face, bushy mustache and a dark complexion, police said.

The car was described as a white sedan with beige coloring by the taillights. It had no license plates, tinted windows and the numbers "07" in yellow with a blue background in the upper corner on the passenger's side of the windshield, police said.

Anyone with information on the man is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
