Police: Man Stealing Purses At CTA Bus Stops

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are warning residents of three recent robberies at CTA bus stops on the Northwest and West sides.

The robberies happened:

- at 12:45 p.m. Nov. 20 in the 3900 block of West Chicago Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood;
- at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 1100 block of South California Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood;
- at 1:45 a.m Nov. 23 in the 500 block of North Pulaski Road in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

During the incident in West Garfield Park, the robber brandished a knife before taking the victim's purse, police said. He was described as a white or Hispanic man, thought to be between 36 and 40 years old, standing about 5-foot-7.
