Police: Man Shot And Killed In West Garfield Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 33-year-old man was shot dead in West Garfield Park Thursday morning, according to police.

About 10:35 a.m., the man was found in the 4400 block of West Monroe Street with a gunshot wound to the torso, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, Lemmon said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
