Police: Man Killed On Same Block Of Fatal PO-Involved Shooting Day Earlier

(STMW) -- A man was shot to death late Friday on the same Grand Crossing neighborhood block where another man was fatally shot by a Chicago Police officer the day before on the South Side, police said.

About 11:10 p.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired in the 7500 block of South Langley found a 25-year-old man lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.

He was taken to Jackson Park Hospital where he later died, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.

Less than 24 hours earlier, police shot and killed a 27-year-old man who they say pointed a gun at them on the same block. It was one of two police-involved shootings from late Thursday to Friday afternoon.
