Police: Man Killed In Industrial Accident In Elk Grove Village

(STMW) -- A man was killed Wednesday when his clothing became caught in machinery at a warehouse in northwest suburban Elk Grove Village, authorities said.

Crews responded to an accident at Acme Industries at 777 Chase Ave. at 11:54 a.m. and discovered a deceased 50-year-old man in a warehouse, according to a statement from the Elk Grove Village police department.

The man's clothing became caught in machinery that injured him, OSHA spokesman Scott Allen said. The agency has launched an investigation and a compliance officer is at the scene, Allen said.

He was identified Wednesday night as Wayne Follman, of Lake in the Hills, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office

Police said no foul play is suspected.

Acme Industries manufactures machines parts, assemblies and components, according to the company's website.
