Police: Man Killed In Hyde Park Crash

(STMW) -- A man was killed in single-vehicle crash early Sunday in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

The man, whose exact age was not known, was driving in the 6500 block of South Cornell about 5:25 a.m. when his vehicle struck a pole, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. No one else was injured in the crash.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
