Police: Man Killed, 3 Injured In Dolton Crash

(CBS) -- A man was killed and three others were injured in a crash early Sunday in south suburban Dolton, police said.

About 1 a.m., a vehicle was spotted speeding northbound on Greenwood Road, when it passed Chicago Road and proceeded the wrong way on the one-way street, according to Dolton Police Chief Robert Collins.

The driver, one of five men in the vehicle thought to be in their 20s, lost control and the vehicle struck a dumpster and another parked car, Collins said.

Two men were ejected from the vehicle, one of whom was dead at the scene, he said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately confirm the fatality.

Two other men were critically injured and a third was receiving medical treatment, Collins said. They were all taken to different hospitals.

A fifth man was detained for questioning, he said.

Additional information was not immediately available early Sunday as police investigate the crash.
