Police: Man Burglarized Round Lake Home Twice

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man has been charged with burglarizing the same home twice earlier this year in northwest suburban Round Lake.

Authorities were called about the first burglary April 14 in the 35300 block of North Hickory Lane in unincorporated Round Lake, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff's office. Entry had been forced through a ground-floor window and several electronic items were taken.

The same home was burglarized again Sept. 26, the sheriff's office said. Entry was once again forced through a ground-floor window and electronics were stolen.

Investigators eventually identified 19-year-old Ovid J. Ramirez as the suspect in both break-ins, according to the sheriff's office. He was arrested Oct. 26 in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue in Waukegan.

Ramirez, who lives in the 3300 block of Susan Circle in north suburban Park City, was charged with two felony counts each of residential burglary and theft, the sheriff's office said. He is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $250,000 bond and was expected to appear in court again Nov. 21.
