Police: Man, 36, Dies After Being Pulled From Lake Michigan

(STMW) -- A 36-year-old man died after he was pulled from Lake Michigan late Saturday on the South Side, police said.

About 11:55 p.m., the man was walking along the lakefront with a female and another male near 31st Street Beach when he went into the water, according to Chicago Police.

Marine Unit officers responded and eventually located the man. He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality.

Police said the man did not fall in the water and foul play is not suspected.
