Police Issue Warning After Four Women Attacked In South Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police have issued a warning after four women were robbed this month in the South Loop.

In each case, police say the victims were approached from behind by at least one man who either pushed or punched them and stole their purses and cell phones. One of the victims suffered a fractured jaw and heat contusions.

Two of the robberies occurred on the 1500 block of South Indiana, another on the 1900 block of South Indiana and one on the 1600 block of South Prairie.

"These things happen fast. Two of the incidents that we are looking at this week the victim didn't even see the offender coming," said Det. Sgt. Lawrence Bowman.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8384.
