Police Investigating Death Of 7-Month-Old In Englewood

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police are investigating the death of a 7-month-old girl Friday night in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

About 11:25 p.m., first responders were called to the 6000 block of South May after a "male guardian" woke to find the girl had stopped breathing while they were sleeping on a couch, police said.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the girl, but she died at Comer Children's Hospital. The Cook County medical examiner's did not immediately have additional information.

Area South detectives are investigating.
