Fight at CTA 'L' stop leaves man injured, man declines to press charges

Reports of stabbing, assault on CTA Red Line

A man was injured in a fight with a woman at a CTA the CTA Belmont Avenue Red-Brown-Purple Line station this week, but police said he didn't report until several hours later.

The chain of events began at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a 57-year-old man said he got into a quarrel with a woman. The quarrel became physical, and the victim suffered a minor laceration to the back, police said.

The incident was not reported to police until around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, at which point the victim refused medical treatment, police said.

The victim also said he did not want to pursue charges.
