Police Investigate Infant Death, Fire In Kenosha

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- Police say they are investigating the homicide of an 11-month-old child in Kenosha following a residential fire.

Kenosha police say a male suspect is in custody and being treated for smoke inhalation following the Tuesday evening incident. Police responded to a domestic violence report at the home Tuesday and found the infant with unspecified injuries. The child died at a hospital.

A fire later broke out at the residence. Police say it's unclear how the fire is related to the infant's death.

The Kenosha fire chief tells WISN-TV the fire destroyed the first floor and basement of the residence. He says it appears the fire was set by a man in the house.
