Police Investigate Death Of Baby Girl In Prospect Heights

(CBS) -- An investigation is under way in Prospect Heights following the death of a 1-month-old girl.

Police and paramedics responded to a call of an unresponsive baby at 10 a.m. Thursday in the 800 block of East Old Willow Road. The child was pronounced dead at the scene, Police Chief Jamie Dunne said at the scene.

"Because of the circumstances of the death -- no medical history or illness or whatnot -- we're  treating it as a death investigation and covering all our bases today," he said.

Dunne says police had previous contact with the baby's parents, but declined to offer further comment.
