Police: Group Of Teens Beating People During Austin Robberies

(STMW) -- Police are warning residents about three recent robberies, two of which happened on the same block, in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

In each incident, a group of three to eight teenagers walked up to a victim, beat him, then forcibly stole the victim's property, according to Chicago Police.

One robbery happened about 9:15 p.m. April 21 in the 200 block of South Lavergne, police said. Two more robberies happened in the 100 block of South Lavergne, one about 6:10 p.m. April 22 and the other about 9:25 p.m. May 3.

The suspects are described as three to eight black boys, between 14 and 17 years old, police said.
