Police: Group Of Burglars Targeting High-End Clothing Stores In Wicker Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning residents of two recent burglaries at high-end clothing stores in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

In both incidents, seven to eight burglars made forcible entry to the clothing stores and removed a large quantity of merchandise, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The most recent burglary happened at 3:20 a.m. Dec. 3 in the 1700 block of North Damen and the other burglary happened at 5:45 a.m. Nov. 21 in the same block, police said.

Both incidents were captured on surveillance video, police said. The burglars may have left the scene in a rental truck, possibly a U-Haul.

The burglars wore face masks, hooded sweatshirts or jackets, gloves and blue jeans.
