Police Find Dozens Of Stolen Vehicles At Auto Scrap Yard

(CBS) – Chicago police on Monday blocked the entrance to a scrap yard on Chicago's Southeast side after a search warrant apparently turned up dozens of stolen cars.

Police responded to a call of a stolen car around 11 a.m. in the 3000 block of East 106th Street, according to Chicago Police News Affairs.

A source tells CBS it all started when the victim of a car theft happened to spot his car parked at Adelman's Truck & Equipment, 3033 E 106th St. When police came to check it out, they found so many stolen cars they stopped counting.

One source said at least 50 vehicles were stolen. A source says the stolen vehicles have been tracked to owners from Highland Park to Indiana.

There are no reported arrests.

Adelman's is a well-known truck and equipment company based in Canton, Ohio, and advertise "the largest inventory of truck equipment and parts under one roof."
