There was a foot chase and according to police the man pointed a gun at officers near 74th and Merrill and was shot to death by an officer.

He is identified as 18-year-old Jeffrey Kemp of the 7400 block of South Jeffery.

The van was found crashed nearby and the original shooting that officers were responding to involved a man who was wounded, so there were multiple crime scenes.

The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating by the officer. Police say a handgun was recovered near where Kemp fell in the street.
