Police: Driver May Have Attempted To Lure Children In Wheaton

(STMW) -- Police are investigating after a driver may have tried to lure two children to her vehicle last week west suburban Wheaton.

About 3:30 p.m. May 28, the children were walking near South President Street and East Elm Street when they were approached by a black or dark blue car, according to a statement from Wheaton police.

The driver, a female in her late teens, yelled to the children and motioned for them to approach the vehicle, police said. But a homeowner nearby intervened and the vehicle sped off.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Investigative Division Commander J. Volpe at (630) 260-2056.
