Police: Delivery Drivers Being Robbed At Gunpoint In Humboldt Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are warning delivery drivers of a string of armed robberies over the past two weeks in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The robberies occurred at 12:10 a.m. on Dec. 27 in the 1400 block of North Maplewood Avenue; and at 8:10 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the 2600 block of West Evergreen Avenue.

In both incidents, the suspect or suspects robbed a delivery driver at gunpoint while the driver is out of the car and making a delivery, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

One suspect is described as a black man, 18 to 21 years old, standing between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot, weighing 150-170 pounds, with a medium to dark complexion. Another suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 18 to 21 years old, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, weighing 140-160 pounds, with a light to medium complexion, police said.

Both suspects wore black hooded sweatshirts in one robbery and gray hooded sweatshirts in the other, police said.
