Police: Burglary, Attempted Burglary Overnight In The Loop

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police are investigating two burglary situations that happened overnight in Chicago's Loop.

The first was an attempted burglary at 2 a.m. Saturday at a jewelry store at the first block of North Wabash, police said. Officers arrive on the scene and found the store's front window broken and damaged. Police said nothing appears to have been taken and no property was reported missing from the store.

The second was a burglary at a mobile phone store around 5:23 a.m. Saturday morning. The suspect broke into the front door of an AT&T store on the first block of West Madison. The suspect took merchandise, but it is unknown how much or what exactly was taken.

The investigation is ongoing. No one is in custody, according to police.

Police are looking into surveillance for both incidents.
