Police: Burglars Back Van Into Oak Brook Store, Make Off With Merchandise

OAK BROOK, Ill. (STMW) -- Eight people broke into a Louis Vuitton store in west suburban Oak Brook early Sunday after backing a minivan through the front doors.

Just after 4 a.m., Oak Brook police responded to a commercial burglary at the Oakbrook Center shopping mall at 100 Oakbrook Center, police said. Arriving authorities found a minivan backed into the front doors of the Louis Vuitton.

According to police, eight people wearing masks and gloves left the minivan and entered the store while the driver waited in the minivan.

The burglars took an unknown amount of merchandise and fled, police said. The store has "extensive" front door and window damage.
