Police: Attacker Shot In Logan Square, Charges Pending

(STMW) -- A man shot another man in self-defense Friday night in the Logan Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

The victim, 47, shot the 22-year-old man who had pointed a gun at him about 11:50 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Milwaukee, police said.

A police source said the 22-year-old had been in a fight with someone when the 47-year-old approached. The 22-year-old then pointed a gun at the victim, who in turn shot him multiple times.

The 22-year-old was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said. Charges were pending against him early Saturday.
