Police: Armed Man Sexually Assaulted Woman With Her Infant In Car

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Chicago Police are searching for a man who hijacked a woman's car at gunpoint before sexually assaulting her with her infant child inside the vehicle last week in West Garfield Park.

The 25-year-old woman was getting out of her vehicle with her baby about 3:45 a.m. March 27 in the 200 block of North Kenneth when the man walked up with a gun and ordered them back inside, according to a community alert issued Sunday by 11th District police.

He drove about a mile south to the intersection of Congress and Kolmar and sexually assaulted her before getting out of the car, the alert said.

The attacker is described as a 5-foot-9 to 6-foot black man between 40 and 50 years old with some facial hair. He was wearing a black skull cap, blue jeans, a hooded sweatshirt and a black jacket with a white, possibly North Face brand logo on the rear right shoulder, police said.

Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8261.
