Police: Abandoned Puppy Rescued After Being Found Inside Duct-Taped Pillowcase In Woodstock

UPDATE: Woman Charged With Hoax After Lying About Finding Abandoned Puppy In Duct-Taped Pillowcase

(CBS) -- Woodstock police are investigating a case of animal cruelty after a puppy was found abandoned and placed inside a duct-taped pillowcase last week.

The puppy, purported to be a boxer or mixed breed, was found in the area of 11500 block of U.S. Rt. 14 in Woodstock on April 20.

Police say the dog, which is approximately four to six weeks old, is currently doing well and is at the Hoof, Woof and Meow Animal Rescue at 129 E. Higgins Rd. in Gilberts, Ill. They are taking applications for adoption and can be contacted at 847-836-7387.
