14-Year-Old Boy Shot To Death In Austin: Police

(STMW) -- A 14-year-old boy was shot to death in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side Sunday afternoon, police said.

The boy was in the 1100 block of North Leclaire at 2:52 p.m. when two males approached him, police said. One of the males was armed and fired shots at the boy, striking him in the back. The two then got in to a dark Infiniti and drove off, police said.

The 14-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the death.
