CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 12-year-old girl was killed early Monday, when she was thrown from the cab of a semi-trailer truck as it rolled over in northwest suburban Pingree Grove, according to police.

Police said Dior Turner, of South Bend, Indiana, was driving a semi-trailer truck west on U.S. Route 20, when it left the road at Reinking Road, and rolled on its side around 5:15 a.m.

Turner's daughter, 12-year-old Dahabrielle Turner, was riding with him at the time, and was ejected from the truck, according to police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dior Turner was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Elgin with minor injuries. Condition information was not immediately available.

The truck damaged several utility poles and a guardrail, but no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
